History Mondomed® was established in 1983 as a specialized Polyvinyl Alcohol manufacturer to introduce high-tech PVA-products for different medical purposes. Mondomed® was registered by the Ministry of Health as a Medical device manufacturer and GMP, the Company quickly developed new products in order to offer the market a wider range of products and became the leading company with regard to PVA-products for medical applications. Mondomed® was one of the first PVA-manufacturers achieving the ISO-9001, EN- 46001 and the CE-mark for Medical devices within one year namely in 1996. Afterwards the EN-46001 was replaced by the ISO 13485. Consequently, Mondomed® was able to establish a wide range of strong personal connections with leading physicians and medical consultants in Germany, Italy and other European countries. In addition, Mondomed® developed extensive contacts with health funds and hospital administration departments, trough the distribution network on the European market.
